11⁄2 cups slow-churned vanilla ice cream
1 cup sweet red wine*
1 cup cherry or berry sparkling water
4 strawberries, sliced
Put two tall glasses in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes before making this.
Scoop 3⁄4 cup ice cream into each glass (about 2 large scoops each).
Slowly pour 1⁄2 cup wine and 1⁄2 cup sparkling water to each glass.
Top with sliced strawberries and enjoy!
*Sweet red wine options include late-harvest Zinfandel, Lambrusco, Grenache, Malbec, and Shiraz/Syrah. Port wine and dessert wines may also be used, but will be higher in sugar, and therefore, carbohydrates.
